KANAMI NAKABAYASHI
Kanami Nakabayashi is a freelance dance artist and dance teacher in Austin, TX. Kanami, originally from Tokyo, Japan, started dance at the age of three and her passion for dance led her to train abroad at a ballet school in Canada and at UT Austin. Upon graduation, she danced in many performance projects in Japan as a freelance artist. Currently, she is back in Austin and has performed with TY&CO, Performa/Dance, Red Nightfall Dance Theatre, Spaces of Fontana, konverjdans, Ventana Ballet, Sea Legs Dance, Early Era Collective and amazing choreographers in town. She has also served as an adjunct ballet faculty at UT Austin. She stands as a founder and principal dancer with TY&CO, currently in her third season. She performs in various genres of repertoire at TY&CO, from contemporary modern to cabaret.
ELAINE FIELDS
Elaine Fields is a dance artist, yoga, and barre fitness instructor in Austin, TX. After graduating from Arizona State University, she started her professional career in Phoenix, AZ, with the Graham-based company, Center Dance Ensemble, for the late Frances Cohen and resident choreographer, Diane McNeal Hunt, before moving to Houston as a freelance artist. There, she performed site-specific works for Jenifer Mabus and Heather VonReichbauer, among others. After having her son in 2018, Elaine moved to Austin, where she currently performs with TY&CO, Ventana Ballet, Sea Legs Dance, Mei/Co, Red Nightfall Dance Theatre. Now that she is a mother in the arts, she feels passionately about creating space and performance opportunities for other struggling artist moms.
